Justin Bieber - Under the Mistletoe

So, most people are probably going to disagree with my choice to review this album. But since it was Christmas I felt like I should review a Christmas album and I've heard a lot about this one

I am no 'Belieber', on occasion and when I'm in the mood I will enjoy a few songs by him. Now this is more than most people can say.

The reason I can indulge myself in this is that unlike most people I do not hate Justin Bieber as a person. He seems like a nice, sweet guy and if nothing else you have to give him kudos for making it so big.

His music is something else; his number one hit song, Baby, although a fairly cute song in itself, sounds like it's being sung by a girl. This makes it difficult for girls to enjoy and almost impossible for boys.

You can imagine my pleasure, then, in the discovery that Justin Bieber's voice is now deeper. Especially in his title song Mistletoe that was released as a single in mid October.

Mistletoe is a catchy tune with a very Christmassy feel to it. It's a love song centered on kissing under the mistletoe, admittedly not very surprising from Justin Bieber.

Justin Bieber's full album, Under the Mistletoe, was released at the beginning of November. It hit number one on the charts in the USA, Canada and Mexico and reached Platinum in Brazil.

If you're a JB fan my guess is you've already bought the album or you're expecting in for Christmas. If you've not a JB fan and you're considering buying it; it's up to you.

If you like that kind of music you would probably enjoy listening to the album a few times, maybe pick out a couple of favourites, but honestly I don't think you would listen to it enough to warrant it's purchase.

However, if you are a buyer of singles like myself you may consider buying the version of Drummer Boy off the album featuring Busta Rhymes.

This is a really fun song, although some people object to having rap in a Christmas song; each to his own, I like the rap personally.

Under the Mistletoe is an average album, I'd be inclined to agree with Poland ranking it at only 33 on their pop charts.

Coldplay - Paradise

I'm not a huge Coldplay fan. I mean their music's good, I just don't understand why they're so big.

Their latest album Mylo Xyloto came out last October. It's their fifth studio album and their fifth album to hold the coveted number one spot on the UK pop charts.

Better then the others? I can't really comment as I haven't heard the whole thing.

Their single, Paradise, that came out in September is, however, another story altogether. The song is beautiful and caught my attention after the release of it's music video in October.

The song is bittersweet and tells the story of a girl who expects the world to be something that it's not; essentially, paradise. The video itself is as sadly charming as the song; it starts off in London and travels to the lovely South African plains.

This is a song I would definitely recommend giving a listen, and a video I would recommend watching:
